Join us for Michigan Catch & Cook!

A new program is underway in Michigan which partners fishing charter boats with local restaurants to provide a unique experience to anglers. Clients of fishing charters can now enjoy the thrill of catching a cooler of fish, and then relax while a local restaurant prepares the day’s catch for a fine meal. For years we have referred clients to restaurants and cafes who have loosely advertised such services, but never before has it been this easy to determine which local businesses were able to accommodate this. Thanks to the collaboration of statewide associations, educational institutions, and government agencies, the process has become much more seamless.

The new partnership was launched in late 2012, with the charge being led by the Michigan Charter Boat association (MCBA). The idea was simple: to provide tourists and avid anglers another dimension to their charter fishing experience by allowing them to take their fresh catch to a local restaurant for a great meal.

We are very excited about the opportunity that this will create for our clients, as each one of our locations has participating restaurants. The price of the service obviously depends on the establishment, but the cost of preparing the catch generally varies from $7-$15. Below is a list of restaurants in the ports we fish that are members of Michigan Catch & Cook.
